I stayed at Gerar before attempting to climb Pico De Orizaba. Gerardo was a great host and the room was affordable and very clean. I definitely recommend this hotel for anybody.
The hotel is clean and quiet. The people here are friendly and helpful. I travel alone in Mexico for one month already. I feel at home in this hotel. It is nice to stay here and get some rest before I go to Mt. Orizaba for climbing. I would like to recommend it to my friends. It would be the best choice.
Hotel Gerar is the perfect place to spend a few nights in the little village of Tlachichuca. A friend and me spent 2 nights there before going up the Pico de Orizaba. The location of the hotel is great, 5 min walking from the center (Zocalo). The service was good and the owner Gerar is a really nice person who does everything so that you feel comfortable. They have rooms with separate beds and every room has its own bathroom. Normally not every room is booked so it is quiet in the night. 100% recomendable!!!
My friend and I had a great stay here at Hotel Gerar; the manager and his family staff were also very helpful, kind and accommodating with us. The room was simple, clean, and perfect for a quiet night before going up Pico de Orizaba.
The hotel is well located, clean and the host is really nice! Don’t expect luxury but this place is clean and the prices are really good. Next to the Orizaba mountain, the place is great!
It's not top quality but I have no hesitation to give them 5 star! Not only it was affordable but the owner arranged a pick up to Piedra Grande with Eric the next morning. Both were genuinely generous and I can recommend Hotel Gerar to anyone. They even offered us to take a shower when we came back from our hike. Better than the other overpriced tourist-trap hostels in town.
This hotel was great. The owner was very friendly and the rooms and bathroom were very nice. Would definitely stay again.
We came to do some motor biking around pico de Orizaba, Gerardo (the owner) is amazing, as he had availability, we could check in early and leave quite late (5pm) with no issue. Also we could make a BBQ there in the parking! People in the town are really friendly!
